Event description

It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite you to Back In The Day: Digestive Diseases For The Family Physician. This is the 4th year that gutCARE Digestive · Liver · Endoscopy Associates is organizing our annual symposium as part of our ongoing commitment to advance and facilitate learning for family physicians in the rapidly evolving field of gastroenterology.

This year’s theme is “Back in the Day”. Digestive disorders is one of the fastest evolving fields in medicine today. Many paradigms that we were taught in medical school over 20 years ago have since shifted, and many new paradigms have been developed. We use a “then versus now” approach to highlight the advances and paradigm shifts in digestive disorders over the past 15-25 years. We selected a spectrum of topics to reflect the daily clinical cases seen in general practice, and focus on practical “to do” tips in daily clinical and medicolegal environment.

Our aim is to equip family physicians with knowledge of the most up-to-date evidence that has altered clinical practice, whilst focusing on outcomes that family physicians care about. We hope this translates into improved patient care and population health. This year’s meeting features case discussions, self-assessment exercises and interactive sessions with speakers on each topic. Following the meeting, participants will also have access to online links to learning material discussed in the meeting.

Join us for an exciting afternoon of learning whilst catching up with friends and colleagues.

Registration is free. However, as the venue has limited seating, we will only be able to accommodate about 300 doctors on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are interested to attend the seminar, please RSVP through the following evenbrite website with your email address and MCR number. This is to enable more accurate and efficient SMC CME points submission.

Parking at the Hilton Singapore is extremely limited. We strongly recommend that you find parking at one of the nearby shopping centers such as Tanglin Shopping Centre, Forum Galleria, Orchard Towers, Wheelock Place or Angulia Park "Open-Air" Carpark next to Wheelock Place.

This course is designed for Primary Care (Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; Pediatrics) Physicians and allied health professionals.

* This event is strictly for healthcare professionals only.

At the conclusion of this CME activity, the learner should be better able to

1) Demonstrate an increased knowledge for the evaluation of digestive and liver disease.

2) Apply up-to-date evidence-based diagnostic criteria to evaluate patients.

3) Be able to communicate to patients the role, methods of various diagnostic tests.

4) Implement safe and effective management for patients.
