Description

Join Mekhala to explore the intricacy of recovering from back pain with the help of Yoga and Psychology.


We will learn the psychology and science of recovering from back pain using the foundation of Sivananda Yoga. The 2 sessions workshop will show you progressive and concrete steps to recover from your back pain. The workshop is limited to only 6 attendees. You will get more personalized attention and more rooms for asking questions.


Session 1 | Understanding the body

Session 2 | Strengthening the body

You will learn important anatomy lessons of how your daily posture and movement will affect the structure of your body. Modified Chair Yoga and Mat Yoga poses (to assist back pain) will be taught to help you open up your body gradually. We will put extra attention in learning how to strengthen the core muscles that are crucial in helping us to hold our body well. Essential tips about how diet, breathing, exercises, relaxation and positive thinking will assist in your recovery.

About the Teacher

Mekhala is a Singapore Sivananda Yoga Teacher and a student of Buddhism. She has been practising Sivananda Yoga since 2007 and Vipassana Meditation since 2009. Mekhala follows the classical ways of conducting Yoga by emphasising on the importance of breathing and relaxation technique on top of the poses.


Mekhala has a history of lower back injury. She has been using Yoga to assist her in recovering and strengthening of her back and core muscles. She is eager to share the knowledge she has gained over the years with more people. Mekhala has been attending a couple of counselling and psychotherapy workshop lately. She believes the fusion of Yoga and Psychology is extremely beneficial in understanding our body inside out.
