Artistate Performing Arts presents: Barbed Wires

What do Barbed Wires mean to you? To some, it represents a sense of confinement and restriction, while to others it brings out the worst of their past. Whichever way you look, barbed wires evoke a sense of negativity.

Barbed Wires is a journey as we highlight 5 different interpretations of what limitations does to our minds and how it translates into our realities where perspectives are everything, and everything is subjective. Where confusion is the norm, our next natural step is to question our ability to fix this mess, to take control and turn it in our favour.

In a never-ending push, one day we find ourselves ever so close to the light, just within grasp. We grab it, and the feeling is liberating and breathtaking - the feeling that we’re finally in control only to realise we’re inside a prison within prisons.

We begin to wonder… Are we really in control? If we are, why can’t we change our perspectives and understanding? If we are not in control, who or what is? This never-ending line of questioning and reality is the center that Barbed Wires is built upon. Join us in this experience where we relinquish control and discover just how fragile our realities truly are.
