Basics of Code 5 - Weekly Coding Course for Ages 10 - 12 (2-part series)
After Scratch and AppInventor, the code campers, the Code Campers are ready to become full fledge coders. This 5th course of our Basics of Code series introduces our Code Campers to the vocabulary and grammar of coding in the Python language - the fundamental concepts that they must master before moving on to building computer programs that solve practical problems or create real-world apps. With a fully featured language like Python, what Code Campers can do is limited only by their imagination as mobile, web development, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, robotics, financial engineering and bioinformatics are well within reach of the savvy Python programmer.
To help familiarise Code Campers with the basics of programming in the Pythonic context, we have chosen to to elucidate these concepts through Minecraft – one of the most iconic, beloved and dare we say, educational (so declared the New York Times) video games of our time.
No prior experience with programming or Minecraft is needed for this course. Note that the focus of this course is teach fundamental Python programming concepts through example in Minecraft, and not to use Python to enhance the gameplay in the Minecraft game.
Lessons will be conducted every Wed, 11 Jan to 5 Feb, from 4:30 pm to 6.30 pm, on our Campus at #03-04 Parkway Centre.
