Fundamentals of ActingCourse Fee: $275One of the most neglected skills in theatre and film-making is the art of acting. Acting is a craft that can be cultivated and should be understood regardless of whether one is an aspiring actor script writer, director or filmmaker, or anyone who wants to express themselves. Beyond all the high-tech equipment, lights and editing software one often forgets that the central element to any story in a film is the actor.Acting consists of the use of the body and the voice, proper understanding of emotional motivation, imagination, character study and other specialized skills. Fundamentals of acting aim to introduce the participant to these elements in five lessons. Topics covered include monologues, a two player scene, voice projection and body language.Instructor: Wong Kwang HanBrief Bio:Film-maker, Theatre Veteran and Educator. Director of feature film “Flights Through Darkness” (2016, 11th Jogja-Netpac Asian International Film Festival Official Selection, 2017 ASEAN International Film Festival Official selection). Former Acting Instructor at The Substation and YMCA. Nominated for Best Actor and Best Script in 2001 Life! Theatre Awards. Winner of Best Script for Human Values Drama Festival 2016 and 2018, Best Performance 2004. Coached Schools with Gold Medal with Honors for Singapore Youth Festival in 2011, Distinction in 2015 and 2017. Gave talks on film-making at the Putnam School of Film, Singapore Management University, Murdoch University, Malaysia. Diploma in Speech and Drama, London College of Music.
