Established in 1997,Ethos Books, an imprint of Pagesetters Services Pte Ltd, creates fresh, different and enduring books that reflect the ethos of our changing times. We are an independent Singapore publisher of literary fiction, non-fiction and poetry.Giving voice to emerging and exciting writers from diverse backgrounds, we help foster an environment in which literature and the arts not only survive, but thrive. Little Saturday Room

Behind the Classics Since 1997, Ethos Books has championed the fresh and bold voices that speak to the ethos of our changing times. With the launch of the Ethos Classics series, we turn our gaze back on our catalogue, the permanent collection of stories, ideas and voices that makes up who we are. Join us at Little Saturday Room for a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the series. Past and current Ethos editors, Kum Suning and Mok Zining will be in conversation with Izyanti Asa’ari, poet and cofounder of Fellow Design, designer of the series’ visual identity. Together, they will discuss what it means to foster a thriving literary ecosystem in Singapore. Come celebrate the books that have shaped us—and the craft that keeps them alive. About the Speakers: Izyanti Asa’ari is a writer and designer. Her poetry explores the gestures the body makes, (willingly or otherwise) in response to place, memory and myth. Her works have previously appeared in New Singapore Poetries (Gaudy Books, 2022), The Opening Act (Layl Ash-Shayr, 2024) and most recently, blood/work (AFTERIMAGE Press, 2026). Mok Zining is obsessed with random things: orchids, arabesques, sand. Her first book, The Orchid Folios (Ethos Books 2020), was shortlisted for the 2022 Singapore Literature Prize in English Poetry. Currently, she is at work on an essay collection, The Earthmovers. She is also Editor at Ethos Books. Kum Suning was Editorial Manager at Ethos Books, having joined in 2013 and spending almost nine years at the publisher. She continues to be part of the wider publishing industry in her day job, and is part of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/booksandcollective" title="https://www.instagram.com/booksandcollective" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Books&amp;</a>—a collective that seeks to champion opportunities for collaboration within and beyond the literary publishing ecosystem. About the Moderator: Tanvi is a self-proclaimed book-polygamist, tea lover and animal enthusiast. With a cup of tea in one hand and a novel in the other, you'll often find her lost in a literary wonderland, blissfully unaware of the chaos that comes with dealing with actual people.
