Feel the buzz as the NUS Chinese Orchestra (NUSCO) teams up with junior college musicians for a side-by-side showcase bursting with energy, colour, and passion. In the weeks leading up to the concert, JC and NUS students come together for rehearsals and sharing of best practices—building friendships, exchanging tips, and aspirations for the future of Chinese orchestral music in Singapore. That spirit of collaboration leaps from the rehearsal room to the stage, where young talents and university musicians perform as one.
The programme blends bold new voices with beloved classics. We kick off with Wang Chen Wei’s 无畏 Dauntless and Hannah Hsieh’s 庄稼 Countryside— fresh, vivid pieces that celebrate grit, growth, and imagination. Then the side-by-side set lights up the hall: the folk-inspired flair of 瑤族舞曲 Dance of the Yao, the radiant optimism of 太陽頌 Ode to the Sun (Mvt 1 & 2) and the cinematic sweep of 印象国乐 Impression of Chinese Music.
Expect bright rhythms, soaring melodies, and that unmistakable thrill of a large ensemble united by purpose.

Out of respect for the participants and other spectators, no children under 3 years of age will be allowed admission.
