Create a waterfall flipbook with your own prints.

GR.iD (GR.iD Singapore) Level 7

Create a waterfall flipbook using your own prints with artist Angelica Ong. Each participant will walk away with a demo book of their own featuring their images. What to prepare:<ul><li>Each participant is required to bring 8 to 10 prints of their own.</li><li>These prints should be made on thick, sturdy paper (approx. 230gsm).</li><li>Alternatively, if unable to print directly onto thicker paper, participants may reinforce their prints by adhering them to thicker paper.</li><li>Prints can be of different lengths but must be of the same width. The recommended maximum length and width of your prints is 15cm and 10cm respectively.</li></ul> Materials and tools are provided.

Agenda

Angelica Ong (she/her) works primarily in photography and artist books. Two main threads in her practice are slow art and language. She is intrigued by ephemera, the human body, everyday subject matter (like trees, birds, eggs, and light), multilingualism, and translation. Effusing fragility and a meditative quality, her work acts as pause, breath, space, inviting the audience to wander, examine the world closely, and discover monumentality in minutiae. In addition, she seeks to decentralise the primacy of English as an institutional language by working in multiple languages, which she often leaves untranslated.

Ong has exhibited work in solo and group shows at SAIC SITE Sharp Gallery (Chicago), W. Gallery (Chicago), Probe Chicago (Chicago), Mana Contemporary (Chicago), and starch (Singapore) and has been named one of the Top 26 to Watch for the Lenscratch Student Prize 2023.
