Bhante Kovida - who grew up in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada - studied science, then travelled overland from Europe to India and Nepal, where he studied Indian history and culture, yoga and Buddhism. After doing some social development work in Sri Lanka, he took ordination under Venerable Balangoda Anandamaitreya, a noted scholar, teacher and meditation practitioner. Since then, Bhante Kovida has been travelling and sharing the Dhamma across Canada and several other countries.
