This signature course incorporates the Zentangle method with yoga and the chakra energy system. The course will introduce the 7 chakras and the central meridian. Through different activities in each session, we aim to mindfully reconnect with our inner-self with the help of tangling and other techniques.

The course is usually offered once a year. This year, it will be offered in two classes, one to be conducted in English, and the other in Mandarin. Minimum 5 to start and maximum 8 in a class so that there can be more in-depth sharing and discussions.

This signature course is open to everyone, no art background or prior yoga experience is required, just come with an open mind and a keen intention to connect with your inner-self.

⚛️ In this course, you will learn :

• brief introduction to the chakra system
• the Zentangle method
• basic to intermediate tangling concepts and techniques
• basic to intermediate tangle patterns
• self-exploration with regards to the chakra system
• yoga practice
• you may better understand your physical and emotional well-being in relation to your various chakra conditions

⚛️ In a typical session, there will usually be (subject to change)

• an introduction to one chakra or the central meridian
• 5 – 10 minutes breath work / guided meditation
• simple yoga practice for the corresponding chakra theme
• tangling practice using selected tangle patterns with special considerations to the corresponding chakra theme
• homework for the week

⚛️Course Fee (per hour rate is $14.50)

• Option 1: $256, 7 sessions 16.5 hours, inclusive of all materials
• Option 2: $240, 7 sessions 16.5 hours, bring your own basic Zentangle materials (see materials listed below)

⚛️ Materials

• Basic Zentangle materials:

1. 1 pc Micron pen black 01 or PN
2. 1 pc 2B pencil
3. 1 pc tortillon
4. 1 pc red pen
5. 1 pc Step-out book or a sketch book for taking notes

• (Optional) Colouring materials such as colour pencils, watercolour or pastel colours

• All other materials will be provided in class

⚛️Payment options:

1) Payment through Eventbrite, there will be processing and service fees incurred, to be paid by participants

2) Register through Centre of Joy website and made payment by bank transfer (no other fees)

Wai Fong is a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT #20 US) trained under the founders, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. She is also a Yoga of Joy teacher. She learned about the chakra system from various traditions, including Yoga of Joy, anthroposophy, and energy medicine, she has also completed MBSR and MBCT mindfulness-based therapy courses. She integrates chakra knowledge with the Zentangle method that promotes connection with self through repeating simple strokes.
