‘Change and Expansion’ have been the two keywords defining Korean photography since 2000.

While adding values on documenting the vanishing traditional culture, Korean photography ‘expands’ its themes to include issues such as personal identity crisis and political, social and global environmental changes.

‘The Change’ is projected in the diverse forms of visual representations utilized by the photographers. The biggest change of all is creating their own stages rather than being at the scene to show their interest. Applying various methods such as collages, stage photos, installations, they are perfecting visual realization of the themes.

The works encapsulating the new trends ‘Change’ and ‘Expansion’ will give the viewers a chance to comprehend the new trends in the Korean contemporary photography and provide a macroscopic and microscopic contextual understanding of it as well.
