Kind Heart, Kind Mind: Discovering Kindness in Every Thought & Action

Join us for a heartwarming workshop where children explore kindness, empathy, and positive behaviour through the fun and meaningful metaphor of "bucket filling."

Through interactive storybook readings, hands-on activities, and creative arts and crafts, kids will learn how small acts of kindness can make a big difference — for themselves and others. It’s a workshop full of learning, laughter, and connection!

Workshop Outline

  • Welcome and Kindness Circle Game
  • What is a Bucket Filler? (1) Storytelling and Interactive Discussion, and (2) Bucket Filler/Dipper Sorting Game
  • Kindness Role-Play & Mirror Messages
  • Loving Kindness Mindfulness
  • Practising Kindness to Self and Others: (1)Create Your Own Bucket, and (2) Positive Notes
  • Kindness Pledge & Closing Circle
  • Home Sweet Home

By the end of the workshop, children will be able to:

  1. Understand what kindness means and identify ways to show kindness to themselves and others.
  2. Learn about empathy – recognising and caring about how someone else is feeling.
  3. Differentiate between kind and unkind behaviours, including how words and actions affect others.
  4. Practise being a "bucket filler" by doing and saying kind things to lift others up.
  5. Explore self-kindness and self-compassion, learning simple tools to care for their own feelings and thoughts.
  6. Create meaningful take-home reminders (like kindness buckets and affirmation crafts) to encourage continued practice of kindness and empathy in daily life.
