Christmas Log Cake

Bûche de Noël (Yule Log Cake)

Celebrations with the Bûche de Noël cake is a French Christmas tradition that dates back to the 19th century. The cake represents the yule log that families would burn every Christmas Eve. The burning of the yule log symbolises the new year to come and would bring good luck to the family. While no one is positive on exactly how the yule log turned into a cake, everyone can agree it's a delicious tradition we never want to end. Instead of using the traditional rolled cake, I have created the log using soft and moist round pistachio sponge. Filled and frost using smooth and aroma packed whipped French Earl Grey chocolate ganache. Come join us and learn how to create your very own royally luxurious Bûche de Noël cake both in taste and look.

  • Make pistachio sponge cake
  • How to infuse flavour into cream
  • Make whipped ganache
  • How to level and fill a cake
  • How to frost a cake
  • Create tree bark texture
  • Make fondant decor
