Overview

Join the virtual launch event of WWF-Singapore and Lendlease study, "Circularity in Retail - Tackling the Waste Problem"

The retail sector is one of the largest generators of waste in Singapore, contributing to about 7% of the country’s total waste in 2019. Despite recent progress by the sector to reduce waste and increase recycling rates, there are still opportunities to achieve circularity and support Singapore’s Zero Waste Master Plan.

WWF-Singapore’s new study Circularity in Retail - Tackling the Waste Problem, jointly produced with Lendlease, addresses these opportunities. The study looks at the waste management in typical mall scenarios by understanding the major recyclable and general waste streams and their high-volume origins. This in-depth analysis reveals the challenges and actionable insights for relevant stakeholders in the retail industry in Singapore to improve waste management and reduce overall waste generated. It showcases potential ways forward in the retail industry to pilot solutions taking into account Singapore's waste management context.

Join Lendlease and WWF-Singapore in the virtual launch event of the study to gain insights of the key findings, and hear from Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, and distinguished business leaders from the retail sector to deepen the sustainability conversation in Singapore.
