Description
ABOUT
NEA, in partnership with UP Singapore, is organising the third Clean and Green Hackathon. In addition to tackling the ever-important issue of waste minimisation, this year's hackathon also brings a new concept to the table: Smart Hawker Centres. Singapore is well on its way to becoming the next Smart Nation, so why not start with the places that are an essential part of Singapore’s social infrastructure, a space where everyone has access to delicious, freshly cooked food at affordable prices?
To help you on your mission to make our hawker centres smarter, we have a bunch of resources that you can tap into:
- Get access to data from Maxwell Food Centre: We have installed 2 Intel Galileos at two different food stalls at Maxwell Food Centre which are collecting sensor data on motion, light, temperature and energy consumption. All this information will be made available at the hackathon.
- Get access to 3 days worth of granular telco data: This dateset includes location data that is geo-fenced around Maxwell Food Centre. It will include details such as time stamps, latitude/longitude and the type of activity (voice, data or network).
- Use our 3D printing facilities to create your prototype: We have 5 3D printers which participants will be free to use to create any sort of physical prototype. The team that builds the best physical prototype will win the 'Best Maker' prize and bragging rights
- Get access to useful environmental data: NEA will be releasing interesting datasets including Air Quality, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Health, Recycling and Weather.
So what are you waiting for? Become part of the Smart Nation revolution!
