If War is the extension of politics by another means in the traditional sense? What then of Insurgency and guerrilla warfare? Insurgents are those non state actors that wish to upset the status quo that is normal everyday peaceful running of our societies and that deny the state security forces the ability to maintain peace, law and order. It is therefore essential that security forces are led by guiding principles in strategy that are multi aligned for countering insurgency and insurgent activities by creating maximum disorder and unpredictability in denying insurgents no place of refuge or ability to fight set piece engagements against armed and police forces of the state.
