Art Outreach Chair, Mae Anderson, will deliver advice aspiring collectors need to buy wisely and cultivate a contemporary art collection that will develop throughout their lifetime. When starting a collection, a background in art is not necessary, but developing an appreciation of style and a willingness to learn will stand you in good stead. This insightful talk will examine the best ways to get started and discuss the ins and outs of maintaining and displaying your growing art collection.

About the Speaker

In her volunteer capacity Mae Anderson is the Chairman of Art Outreach Singapore, a leading art education non-profit organization in Singapore, with Institute of Public Character Status. Art Outreach provides an art education program to Singapore schools in an effort to promote visual literacy since 2003. Through Art Outreach, Ms. Anderson co-founded the Land Transport Authority's Art-in-Transit Walking Tours Program to showcase art installations along the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Northeast line and Circle line, and was appointed to the Land Transport Authority’s Art Review Panel as part of her long-term collaboration with that agency.

In her professional capacity, Ms. Anderson is Head of the Credit Suisse Wealth Institute, based in Singapore. She is responsible for collaborating with the bank's frontline leadership, Talent Development, Marketing as well as other in-house and external subject matter experts, to coordinate and aid in developing training initiatives at the Wealth Institute. She will also leverage the Institute as a platform to deepen client relationships, and to engage with them on current and prospective issues of importance, building the Institute into a valuable resource for their internal employees and external clients.

In addition to this role, Ms. Anderson serves as Philanthropy Advisor in Credit Suisse's Private Banking Asia Pacific business, assisting clients with strategic philanthropy initiatives, including the development of long-term plans for charitable giving. She has an extensive background in the development, management and expansion of non-profit organizations and the management of relationships between donors and non-profit groups.

Ms. Anderson is a graduate of the National University of Singapore.
