Colourfully Peranakan - Beading Workshop 土生华人之斑斓色彩-珠绣工作坊

A long time ago, young Nyonya girls used beading to demonstrate virtues like patience, attention to detail and endurance. Join us in this workshop by The Intan as participants will learn the details behind this traditional craft and a hands-on opportunity to bead their own Peranakan bookmark under the guidance of Nyonya Angeline Kong, who has over 20 years of beading experience.

*Suitable for Children age 10 and above, with parental guidance. Workshop will be conducted in both English and Mandarin.

*There will also be a display of Peranakan cultural items including kebayas, porcelain replicas, Peranakan tiles, and batik sarongs from 25 May to 9 June. Admission to the exhibition is free. This exhibition is presented by The Intan.

过去，珠绣是衡量一名年轻娘惹的耐心，是否注重细节等美德的一项标准。一起来参加由娘惹博物馆呈献的珠绣工作坊，让拥有20多年珠绣经验的娘惹Angeline Kong，传授大家这门传统手艺的窍门，并教大家制作别具土生华人风格的书签。

*适合10岁及以上的儿童，并有父母的指导。活动将以中英文进行。

*配合工作坊，现场也将展示娘惹传统服装卡峇雅、瓷器复制品、土生华人瓷砖和巴迪纱笼。展览从5月25日开始至6月9日。入场免费。展览由娘惹博物馆呈献。
