华乐本土作品音乐会 Heritage in Singapore: a celebration of local composers

Through this unique programme, the NAFA Chinese Orchestra, paired with the usage of unique percussion instruments, will present stories of cultural heritage and mythology.

From Wang Chenwei’s evocative Confluence, Dauntless, and Song of the Sisters’ Islands, to Liong Kit Yeng’s reflective Kreta Ayer and Sulwyn Lok’s shimmering Sand Mystique, the concert journeys through soundscapes that draw inspiration from local folklore, landscapes, and history.

The programme culminates with Law Wai Lun’s majestic Prince Sang Nila Utama and Singa and Grasslands Fantasia (co-written with Tan Kah Yong), alongside Phang Kok Jun’s lush Symphonic Floras—each work a testament to Singapore’s vibrant musical imagination and the enduring spirit of collaboration.
