Conquering Stage Fright

Participants will learn how to look at music through the lens of psychology, and the involvement of the brain in our role as a musician. Focusing on music performance, we will learn about anxiety, and the ways in which we can make our performances better. This session will also cover techniques to manage the bodily sense of panic.

Born and bred in Kelantan, Kota Bharu, Alvin graduated from HELP University with a Bachelor of Psychology, and is currently completing the final stages of Masters in Counselling. He has been playing music from an early age, formally starting from the old electronic organ as a young adolescent, and moved on to piano until his teenage years. With exposure to church-based worship sessions consisting of the typical 4-piece band, and using his understanding of music theory, he picked up the guitar, drums, and finally landed on the electronic bass. He has aspirations to write and create music of his own in the future.
