Description

See a special preview of Country Music, a new 8-part, 16-hour documentary film series directed by Ken Burns, written by Dayton Duncan and produced by Duncan, Julie Dunfey and Burns. The preview will feature highlights from the whole series, which explores the remarkable stories of the people and places behind a true American art form. (Country Music: A Film by Ken Burns premieres Sunday, September 15 at 7PM on LPB and on PBS stations nationwide.)

Following the preview, hear from Joey Kent, an author, historian, and archivist. The Louisiana Hayride Archives he established and maintains has been labelled by Rolling Stone magazine as “the most important collection of country music history still in private hands.”

2pm – 3pm: Special Preview of Country Music: A Film by Ken Burns

3pm – 3:30pm: Q & A with Joey Kent, author of the new book Cradle of the Stars about the Louisiana Hayride.
