How is a Post-a-Record made?

They are not made like factory pressed vinyl. Instead of using stampers, each Post-a-Record is embossed onto a thin sheet of plastic - crafted one groove at a time, in real time. Every piece is entirely handmade with imperfections guaranteed.

Will I get to see the vintage lathe machine in action?

Accepted Answer

Yes - you’ll get to watch your voice memo being cut in real time. It's one of the highlights of the experience!

Question 3

How long can my audio clip be?

Our audio postcards can hold a maximum duration of 2 minutes.

Question 4

Can I customise the design of my Post-a-Record?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please send your image to us at least 24 hrs before your session. To ensure a perfect fit for our standard A5 postcards, please provide a landscape image sized 158 x 220mm (this includes space for trimming) in JPEG or PNG format.

Is this suitable for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes, however please note that children above the age of 6 will require a ticket.
The environment is not fully child-proof with machines and materials present. We kindly ask that you supervise your child closely throughout the experience. Any damages that occur will be your responsibility to address.

What if I do not have a voice memo for my Post-a-Record?

We reserve the right to select a recording of our choice for your session.

Question 7

Can I use music sourced directly from streaming platforms? (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music)

Accepted Answer

No because without the permission of the content owner or the necessary rights to produce, that is considered piracy and it is illegal. Don't ask us to do illegal things!

Question 8

What do I need to prepare for the session?

Accepted Answer

Customization Deadline: 24 hours before your session.
Late Submissions: If files are not received on time, you must select from 5 template designs with pre-selected audio (no customization allowed).

What’s your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Bookings can be refunded, transferred, or rescheduled if made more than 7 days before the session.

Question 10

Can the Post-a-Record work with all record players/turntables?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our postcards will play on most players. Postcard records may not be compatible with turntables that have auto-return or auto-stop features. You must disable these features; if your turntable allows you to disable auto-stop (often via a switch on the back).

Question 11

How long is the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are approximately 1.5 hours long. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled start time. To prevent disruptions, sessions begin promptly, and latecomers will be treated as no-shows with no entry permitted.

Question 12

What kind of audio can I cut into Post-a-Record?

Accepted Answer

You can submit personal recordings such as voice memos in one MP3 or WAV file. Copyrighted music is strictly not allowed - no exceptions. Don't ask us to do illegal things!
