Event description
In the age of Smart Cities and Smart Nation, how is Singapore preparing itself to enhance its Cyber Resilience, beyond Cybersecurity?

About this Event

We live in an era where everything is becoming “smart,” from your mobile phone to your home to your city. Indeed, many cities have embarked on various digital transformation initiatives to become Smart Cities, while Singapore leading its bold Smart Nation endeavours. However, as cities become more digitised, the importance of Cybersecurity is paramount. Business and government leaders are becoming more aware of the potential cyber threats, as seen in the projected Cybersecurity spending of $1.15 billion in Singapore in 2019 (Gartner, 2018).

Beyond the technical aspect of Cybersecurity, there is an emerging trend of discussions on Cyber Resilience. It focuses on the development of long-term organisational strategies based on the assessment of the potential risks and vulnerabilities, rather than recovery in cases of attacks (World Economic Forum, 2016). To facilitate a holistic conversation, we bring you a panel of renowned Cyber Resilience experts bringing in perspectives from Cybersecurity technology, business and public policy.

The panel session will focus largely on Singapore’s Cyber Resilience, especially in view of some of the major incidents in recent years, and where the nation is heading in order to create a truly Smart Nation.
