About this event

"Preparing for death is one of the kindest and wisest things we can do for both ourself and others." - Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

In modern society, death and dying are generally perceived as inherently negative topics of conversation and are often shrouded in confusion, grief and suffering. However, Buddhism offers a different perspective on life and death.

Thinking about and meditating on our death is one of the wisest and most beneficial things we can do for ourselves and others. Far from being morbid or depressing, looking at death releases us from the many trivialities and worries of life, and gives us clarity about what is most important. Being grounded in the reality of our mortality helps us to live meaningfully right now, helps us to become a source of benefit for others, and to become confident about what lies ahead.

During this day course Kelsang Rabka will explain the Buddhist meditation on death and impermanence, and how it helps us to live an enjoyable and meaningful life. He will also explain the process of dying and how we can help others through the process of death.
