December Book Club - Glasgow @ iCafe Merchant City
Overview
November Book Club - Short reads
You are invited to our women-only safe and inclusive Book Club!
Dive into passionate discussions with fellow book-lovers in this super cute café, share your thoughts on your reads (good or bad), what you've learnt and what you wish you hadn't...
We only do themes in the book club! You're free to bring any book that sticks to the theme. Our Deczmbzr conversations will be centred around your choice of short reads, which means any book you deem to be short (an essay? a long poem? or a 250-page book?) If you don't know what to bring, don't hesitate to reach out xx
Join us from 11am to 1pm to fill your heart with literary delights, stimulating conversations, and maybe even a cup of coffee or two. It's also a great opportunity to make new friends, we are all super welcoming!
See you there :)

Discovering each other's picks
Our first half hour is usually for discovering what everybody has picked this month. We figure out if anybody has read the books mentioned, and talk about the blurb, why it attracted us and why it's a good fit for the theme!
Talking about themes & similar reads
After getting to know each other's books, we like to draw big themes out of them. From there, discussions flow to similar reads and shows, plus other themes (like who we would cast as a certain character, or what star sign we think a character is)!
Reviewing & criticising
It's time to sit in the judge's chair and figure out who liked and who didn't like their books this month. We rate them, and figure out which one we'd most like to read out of them all! We always finish by taking a picture of all our books together and a wee note in the logbook :)
