About this Event
Canva is a free online tool that you can use for all of your designs, such as posters, flyers, social media posts, web banners and more.
In this workshop, we'll share with you case studies on how to create winning Social Media Ads in different Social Media Dimension Requirements, such as 1200px by 628px and/or 1080px by 1080px.
Limited Tickets to 8 pax. 80% hands-on.
This is a practical hands-on course.
In this short course for beginners, we will :
- Learn about ways to create social media advertising graphics.
- We will share with you advertising case studies, and how top agencies create and test Social Media Ad Graphics
- Learn essential design principles, including font type and colour palettes (corporate colour & colour emotions)
- Benefits of using Canva to design, ability to share your files with friends and colleagues
- Ways to create simple designs with confidence (at least 1 social media ad graphic)
- Trainer Demo on how to design Social Media Ads with Canva effectively
- Participants are given 30 to 45 min hands-on
- Trainer design feedback & consultation (10~15 min)
- Download and share your Social Media Ad Graphics on social media (Instagram or Facebook)
- Upload content on Social Media (5 min) - OPTIONAL
- If time permits: Trainer Demo on Facebook Slideshow (15 second video from 3 ~ 5 graphics) for Facebook Business Pages.
Pre-requisite(s):
1) If you do not have a Canva account yet, please create one (preferably with your gmail account) at least 2 days before the training.
2) The basic account is free: https://bit.ly/canva-sg
3) Please use either Chrome or Firefox browser during the class.
4) Please update the latest version of Zoom.
5) Please also ensure you have good WiFi connection.
6) You will need to have good computer knowledge
7) You will need to be able to share your screen via Zoom for trainer's design feedback

Trainer Profile:
Charmaine is the Founder & Chief Marketing Officer at Sky Digital Agency. Being a web/graphic designer by training, she enjoys helping individuals learn more about social media and digital marketing, including ways to communicate effectively with free to use design resources and tools such as Canva and PowerPoint.
She is a WSQ ACTA Certified Trainer, and an Associate Adult Educator (AAE) and Trainer with Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), does social media, digital marketing training and mentoring with startups at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Sandbox), Temasek Polytechnic (LaunchPad), and SUTD Venture Building Program (Supported by ESG).
Till date, she has trained more than 1,200 individuals, and conducted more than 1,950 hours of training in the last 5 years alone.
