Students from the BA (Hons) Design for Social Futures programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore explore the climate vulnerability of an island city. They examine the potential impacts on coastal resilience in the context of marine heatwaves and rising sea levels, especially in the age of AI.
Visitors are invited to view various worlds constructed by the students through a deliberate and creative presentation of fictional artefacts and diegetic prototypes. These envisioned futures cover different time horizons and are approached from innovative, speculative or critical angles. Daily guided tours given to all visitors.
In line with the idea of sustainability, this event is also organising a programme consisting of a sharing and workshop session, "Reefuture". We will discuss all about coral propagation and how individuals like yourself can make a difference. Participants will be able to try their hand in a simulated coral propagation process.
The time slots are:
- 12 September, Friday, 2-3pm
- 12 September, Friday, 7-8pm
- 19 September, Friday, 2-3pm
*The sharing/workshop sessions are on a sign up only basis
