About the Panelists

1. Michael Koh, Executive Fellow, Centre for Liveable Cities

Michael Koh is an Executive Fellow at the Centre for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development, where he is involved in research, organisation of the World Cities Summit, capability development and international advisory projects. He has 25 years of experience in the public service, including 7 years as National Heritage Board CEO and 4 years concurrently as National Art Gallery CEO. He was also the former Director of Urban Planning & Design at the Urban Redevelopment Authority, where he spearheaded the planning and urban design of the new Downtown at Marina Bay, revitalization of Orchard Road and creation of the arts and entertainment district Bras Basah.Bugis.

2. Vignesh Kaushik, Regional Design Technology Director, Gensler

With more than12 years of experience as an architect, researcher, and design technology specialist, Vignesh has designed and delivered several large-scale mixed-use and workplace interiors projects across Southeast Asia. He currently spearheads Digital Transformation efforts for Gensler in the Middle East, Asia Pacific & Greater China regions. He also serves on the board of the Computational BIM workgroup to chart its roadmap for the adoption of Integrated Digital Delivery. A recognized thought leader, Vignesh has published several research papers and is a frequent speaker at forums related to AI, machine learning, design computation & BIM.

3. Khoo Peng Beng, Directors, ARC Studio Architecture + Urbanism Pte Ltd

Khoo Peng Beng has been practicing as an architect in Singapore for more than 20 years. His transformational work, the Pinnacle@Duxton has redefined high-rise high density public housing and shown that living closer together can be sustainable, green and even fun. The project has been recognized internationally and has won prestigious awards like the CTBUH Best Tall Building in Asia Australasia. Peng Beng also sat on the Design Advisory Committees for the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Housing Development Board (HDB).

About the Moderator

1. Low Shi Ping, Contributing Editor, D+A

Low Shi Ping is the Contributing Editor of design and architecture magazine d+a. She is responsible for publishing its four print issues a year as well as d+a’s website content. Based in Singapore, she is also a proficient freelance writer and editor who has accumulated more than 15 years of in-house experience in the media and communications industry. Since stepping out on her own in 2015, Shi Ping has successfully amassed a diverse portfolio of clients across a broad range of lifestyle industries. More recently, she worked on book projects for RSP Architects Planners & Engineers and Spanish surface cladding firm Cosentino.
