Join us in an interactive session where we explore the benefits of applying speculative design to foresight and Scenario Planning work.

Are you an innovator or a foresight aficionado? Maybe a sci-fi geek? Then this session is for you! Come learn about the benefits of using speculative design to make the future visible. Experiment how “real artifacts, scavenged from the 2040’s” can help you build an understanding of what the future might just be like. The intention of the workshop is to expose viewers to the benefits of employing speculative design to enhance the quality of Foresight and Scenario Planning work. Participants will first have the chance to interact with examples of speculative design, and use the knowledge gained from that interaction to better define the nature of that specific future, taking into account social, cultural, economic and technological factors. In an inversion of the first half of the session, the participants themselves will get to build a scenario from the future in an interactive manner (using voting tools and pre-elaborated materials). From that scenario, they will be given stimulus to build artifacts from that future (e.g. parking tickets, recipes, phone bills, shopping receipts, nutritional labels, etc.), which they can then take home.Speaker - Mariana W Maluf Piereck (Mariana Maluf)Hyper Island MA - Digital Management, Strategy and Insights ConsultantConsumer Insights and Foresight expert with over 20 years of experience in the fields of behavioural research and business strategy. Penny, Axe, Comfort, Coca-Cola, Visa, Dove, Helman’s, in their efforts with creating meaningful innovations and interactions with the users and admirers of these brands.
