Description

Synopsis:

Reading is an important skill for developing literacy. The benefits includes building vocabulary, listening skills and improving their understanding. In this session, we will learn before, during and after reading strategies and how to select age-appropriate books for your child.

Target participants:

Parents and caregivers with children between the ages of 3 years to 7 years old.

(Due to seating capacity, we are unable to accomodate children attending the session)


Profile:

Yiyao is a Senior Educational Therapist with the DAS. She holds a Master of Arts in Special Educational Needs (SEN) with the University of South Wales (USW) in UK, a degree in Psychology and a Specialist Diploma in Preschool Education. She has presented on the importance and development of early literacy skills at IDA in 2019, UNiTE SpLD in 2018, DAS Preschool Seminar 2016 and 2017, and Early Childhood Conference 2016. Yiyao is also a member of Register of Educational Therapists Asia (RETA).
