What do students learn?

This programme is part of the in-depth LCCL Core Curriculum, and its instructional design is guided by the LCCL Progression Framework. By the end of The Early Creators Programme the learner would:

  1. Know a simple yet powerful problem solving strategy that can be applied in coding and other areas in life.
  2. Have learnt, applied and practised concept of creating simple sequential algorithm, and pattern recognition with loops.
  3. Understand how code is applied to automate tasks.
  4. Coded own video game.
  5. Have an exposure to robotics.

This camp is a subset of the Early Creators Core Curriculum (EC). Students learn via fun and engaging games and puzzles, whilst being facilitated by the teacher to problem solve, think of solutions, and code. Each lesson is scaffolded and learning objectives of each segment build upon earlier ones.

Fundamental Coding Concepts

  • Introduction to code
  • Sequencing
  • Loops
  • Event-based programming
  • Automation

Applications of Code

  • Coding movements, sounds and animation in a game
  • Coding robots
  • Introduction to robots and robotics components

Computational Thinking and Problem Solving

  • Algorithms
  • Pattern Recognition
  • Decomposition
  • Evaluation

Add-on STEM elective camp at a discount

Optional add-on a discount. We do this because we want a lot of kids to have a lot of fun-filled, enriching quality learning from our curriculum.

STEM Design, Build and Code Machine at $398 (U.P. $600)

How do I know if my child is suitable for this?

Your child is suitable if s/he is 5 years and above, as it requires a certain stage of brain development in the child to be able to fully comprehend and make full use of the problem solving strategies covered in class.

How is LccL's pre-school camps different?

Our Early Creators pre-schoolers curriculum is part of the LCCL Core Curriculum that is carefully structured and scaffolded for students to progress from pre-school education to advanced concepts in their later years. This progression has been tried and tested since 2012 and is proven to produce leaners who are resilient and show improvement in computational problem solving abilities. As such, our students pick up coding faster than one without good, structured foundational backing.

Is the class in-person?

This is an in-person class, held at LccL Coding Academy's flagship Tanglin campus with safe management measures.
