There’s a pulse running through Austria’s vineyards right now. A quiet electricity in the rocks, the terraces, and the ferment. The wines that once played by the rules are now breaking free, alive with spirit and edge.
This is not the Austria of safe Grüner or polite Riesling. These are wines that crackle with tension, that taste of stone and wind and wild herbs. Wines that capture the truth of the land and the restlessness of those who work it.

The Producers
Andreas Tscheppe farms lush vineyards near Slovenia teeming with wild herbs, flowers, and the creatures that grace his labels – dragonflies, lizards, beetles, butterflies. His cult Sauvignon Blancs are alive with smoke, herbs, and mountain air.
Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe of Gut Oggau took over a forgotten 17th century winery in Burgenland and turned it into one of Europe’s most original voices. Each bottle bears a face and a story – a family of wines, from bright and juicy with violet and cherry to deep, herbal, and seriously complex. All utterly moreish.
Claus Preisinger works by instinct in Burgenland. He started as a rebel and has become a reference, crafting mouthwatering reds and skin-contact whites that are as fluid and intuitive as jazz. Every bottle feels both spontaneous and deliberate.
Martin & Anna Arndorfer farm in Kamptal’s granite soils with gentle precision. Their wines are focused and pure, unforced yet full of depth, proving that restraint can be just as expressive as risk.
Fuchs & Hase is a pet-nat project from the Arndorfers and their friends Stefanie and Alwin Jurtschitsch, producing effervescent, playful, and surprisingly deep wines.
Veyder-Malberg farms Wachau's impossibly steep ancient terraces by hand to craft crystalline, mineral-driven Grüners and Rieslings. For many, the pinnacle of site expression.
Wabi-Sabi is Franz Hofstätter's personal project, producing vibrant, alive wines that don’t try to be perfect, but succeed at being beautiful.
What You’ll Taste
Thirteen wines that defy expectation.
Whites that snap with life and glow with mineral energy. Reds loaded with tension and fruit. Skin contact wines that blur the line between clarity and wildness. Pet nat that fizzes with joy.
This tasting is a journey through the new Austria: Styria, Kamptal, Burgenland, the Wachau. Each region adds its voice to the conversation. Each bottle captures a moment of risk and conviction.
Why It Matters
This is not just another wine event. It’s an invitation to taste the future of Austria. The growers you’ll meet through their wines are rewriting what authenticity means in modern winemaking. Their bottles are scarce, often unclassified, sometimes controversial, always unforgettable.
Come taste what happens when people choose honesty over perfection.
Come see the seismic shift underway in Austria.
