Description

About the Workshop

Business leaders are more often than not inundated with data from various sources every day. The advent of BIG data added further pressure on the management to make sense and use of information on hand to make informed decisions. For some leaders, just the thought of tackling this “monster” called BIG data is daunting already. However, the ability to transform both internally and externally acquired data into practical applications daily at work and strategizing the next moves holds the cardinal key to the success of the organization. The outcome will be formidable if an organization has this competitive edge over its competition, especially in the current sluggish economy.

This workshop intends to impart relevant analytical skills and knowledge to participants so that they are empowered in making better and sound decisions using data analytics. They will also learn how to transfer this knowledge within their organisation through the application of selected workplace learning methods.

    • Acquire the knowledge and relevant skill sets to understand BIG data and overcome the challenge of analyzing it at workplace
    • Embark on a data analytics journey to uncover key insights
    • Apply selected workplace learning methods to embrace data analytics

            About the Speaker

Alicia is a seasoned researcher with more than 20 years of experience having worked in both regional and global insights roles on the client and agency sides. Her industry knowledge spans from fast moving consumer goods, financial services to the public sector. Through years of consulting in the areas of brand growth for various organizations, Alicia noted that many of these enterprises were rich with internal data that was relatively untapped. Instead, businesses were spending money to acquire more new data externally that lead to data overloads. Subsequently, not much effort was spared to merge and analyse the data either due to lack of expertise or difficulty in tackling these pockets of information within the organization.

This has prompted Alicia to impart her knowledge and skills to help businesses approach data and analytics confidently using logic and structure. She has been consulting with business leaders on the importance of transforming this knowledge and applying it daily at the workplace. With a more data savvy work force and business leaders, decisions can be made more objectively and effectively that are grounded in facts and customer-relevant.
