Event description
Search for meaning and possibly answers to existential questions that society faces through dance pieces with innovative use of props.

About this event

NUS Naach’s Kiwaad revolves around the idea of finding meaning and inspiration in a mundane and seemingly banal existence. As the world recently plunged into a series of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we found ourselves preparing for a terrifying phase of self-isolation. By staying trapped in our homes behind our doors, day after day, week after week, how does one still have the zeal for life? Can a seemingly innocuous and inanimate object like a door trigger the existential questions we face? And potentially point us towards the right direction?  At its very core, Kiwaad is a search for meaning and possibly answers to existential questions that we as human society face, everyday.

Kiwaad will showcase 8 uniquely choreographed and themed dance pieces with an innovative use of props. The audience will experience a spectrum of emotions through the 8 different stories showcased. These stories will range from thought-provoking issues such as gender stereotypes, to light-hearted whimsical pieces with elements of comedy and romance.

Kiwaad will premiere on our EMCC Virtual Stage via YouTube Live. After registration, a link will be provided closer to the performance date via Eventbrite.

Kiwaad is part of ExxonMobil Campus Concerts (EMCC), presented by NUS Centre For the Arts.
