School Holiday Workshops : Art as Therapy for Parent & Child

The series of 3 workshops allow parent and child to use different medium to explore different emotions, encourage self-expression, gain personal insight and develop problem-solving skills.

Creative expression can foster healing and develop mental well-being. Creating expressive art forms helps one to communicate their inner worlds and feelings, relieve stress, and uplift their moods.

Every Saturday, Time : 1.30 to 2.45 pm

28 / 11 Creative Release : To release energy or tension through kneading action by reproducing/manipulating soft dough and feel a sense of relief after activity.

5 / 12 In touch with Senses : To engage by involving more than one senses, focus attention and calm the mind by exploring and laying finger paints on the paper and mixing the colours, verbalising their experience.

12 / 12 Emotions in our bodies : To express four emotions through drawing or painting on papers separately. To acquire awareness the affective states to body symptoms by applying the previous emotions papers onto the body map where they feel any of four emotions.

Connect to your creativity and imagination, create your own expressive art forms and communicate inner worlds and feelings. Let out your creative expression juices and join fellow creative classmates in using different medium and explore together!

Workshop Series 3

12 / 12 Emotions in our bodies : To express four emotions through drawing or painting on papers separately. To acquire awareness the affective states to body symptoms by applying the previous emotions papers onto the body map where they feel any of four emotions.

In this 75 minutes session, parent and child will:

1) focus and learn in a fun and safe space through simple mindfulness activities to help them stay connected and be present.

2) engage through art activities which help them to explore with the 3 workshop themes respectively.

3) communicate learnings and personal insights by sharing their creative processes when engaged in the art activities.

Program fee includes the costs of all materials.

Limited to 2 pairs of Parent & Child only!

Notes:

• This program is suitable for children aged 7 - 12 years old and attended with a Parent.

• Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes to facilitate movement.

• Please wear old clothings or bring along art aprons as washable colours might stain on the clothings.

• Please bring small towels to clean up after the activities.
