Who is this for
All people working in Local Authorities, Leisure Trusts, HE/FE, Community Sport Hubs, Sports Clubs and Scottish Governing Bodies (SGBs). This training is particularly suited to those with a line management, volunteer management or co-ordination role.
About this event
Enable Scotland and sportscotland are committed to engaging disabled people in a way that responds to their needs. The Enable Works team brings significant experience and expertise in terms of supporting greater workforce diversity, system change and innovation across different sectors.
Aim
Creating a supportive working environment where employees and volunteers feel valued and respected is vital for an organisation’s success.
This training will build on your understanding of how best to support disabled employees and volunteers in the workplace and demonstrate how this can benefit your organisation.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, delegates will have more knowledge and will:
- Understand the benefits of providing development opportunities to disabled employees and volunteers
- Understand your obligation to provide reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010
- Consider strategies to retain and develop disabled employees and volunteers
