Enigma and Zilliqa Meetup in New York City

Meet the developers of Enigma and Zilliqa on Tuesday, May 15th, in New York City (venue to be announced). Both teams will be in town for Consensus 2018. We are excited to present both our projects to the community and speak with local developers and blockchain enthusiasts. Come learn how we're solving some of the biggest challenges in decentralization.

Enigma is a blockchain-based protocol that uses groundbreaking privacy technologies to enable scalable end-to-end decentralized applications. With Enigma, “smart contracts” become “secret contracts,” where input data is kept hidden from nodes in the Enigma network that execute code. This functionality is essential for protecting sensitive data and creating truly decentralized solutions at scale. Enigma will present details of their protocol and some of the applications it can enable for identity, credit, healthcare, and many other fields.

Zilliqa is a next-generation high-throughput blockchain that is the first to implement sharding in blockchains.

Scalability is arguably the most pressing problem faced by blockchains today. Popular blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum can only handle around 10 transactions/s which are a far cry from the 8,000 transactions/s which payment systems like Visa handle on average. One of the most advocated solutions to the scalability problem is sharding. Sharding in Zilliqa follows a divide and conquer approach, where the network gets divided into smaller groups each capable of processing transactions in parallel. Zilliqa will also have its own smart contract language Scilla, an intermediate-level language for verified smart contracts.
