Remember how we used to lay newspaper on the ground to eat durian? Here’s a modern take on that! Learn about durian culture while feasting on fresh durians on the open field at Sprout Hub!
Our Durian Lovers Picnic Mat is full of cute graphics, history bites, fun facts and games, accompanied by a 15-minute audio story about Singapore’s durian culture. Choose from two designs for your picnic! One is more family friendly, and the other, more infocentric!
Your 1-hour picnic slot includes usage of our picnic mat, 1 whole Mao Shan Wang durian and 4 packets of coconut water. Additional durians can be purchased fresh from our durian van, in partnership with 99 Old Trees Durian!
Sign up now to reserve a picnic slot at $68 valid for up to 6 people. Hourly sessions on the 6th & 7th February 2021 from 9am to 5pm. Limited walk-ins available as well!
Waiting for Durian is a project by artists Kray Chen and Melinda Lauw. Combining their love for durian, art-making and experience design, they create events, experiences and objects that celebrate and reimagine durian culture.
Refund Policy: Should the event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s reasonable control, no refunds will be allowed. However, Waiting for Durian, in partnership with 99 Old Trees, will offer to deliver 1 whole Mao Shan Wang and 4 packets of coconut water to each customer’s home.
FARM DAY OUT REGISTRATION & IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1. You do not need a general admission ticket if you are only participating in pre-registered activities.
2. Please note that your activity ticket will only grant you admission into Sprout Hub for the duration of the activity (i.e. you are not required to register for a general admission ticket for that time slot). However, if you would like to participate in other aspects of Farm Day Out (i.e. visit vendor booths and participate in other activities) outside of your activity time slot, you would need a separate general admission ticket.
3. To comply with current regulations, please keep to a maximum number of 8 visitors per group. Please respect social distancing rules, wear your masks at all times, observe good personal hygiene and if you feeling unwell, stay home and seek medical attention.
