IOTΛ - A scaleable, fee-less distributed ledger for IOT: applications and implications.

The IOTA Foundation is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Berlin, Germany. The Foundation’s mission is to support the development and standardization of new distributed ledger technologies (DLT) that drive permissionless innovation ecosystems, in particular the IOTA Tangle. The IOTA Tangle is an innovative type of DLT specifically designed for the Internet-of-Things (IoT) environment. It is an open-source protocol facilitating novel Machine-to-Machine (M2M) interactions, including secure data transfer, fee-less real-time micropayments, and the collection and dissemination of sensor-based and other types of ‘oracle’ data.

IOTA enables new data driven business models and smart solutions in smart cities, industry 4.0, smart nations and feeds into the digital transformation across many smart industries such as mobility, energy, real estate, global trade and smart supply chain among others. The Foundation grows a growing global open innovation ecosystem of organizations from both private and public sectors.

The presentation will introduce IOTA's technology, its cocreation ecosystem and its latest work towards smart cities and industry 4.0. A concept of smart lab enabled by IOTA will be proposed as a collaboration opportunity to catalyse the IoT innovation ecosystem and feed testbed pilots in Singapore.

The Speaker - Dominik Schiener:

Dominik Schiener, Cofounder and cochairman of the IOTA Foundation, is a serial entrepreneur in the IoT and Distributed Ledger Technology. Dominik is based in Berlin where the IOTA Foundation has its headquarters.
