Join us for a Field Recording Workshop hosted by music publishers and artists Hear & Found (Thailand) at Objectifs - Centre for Photography & Film. Known for their sensitive and ethical approach to working with indigenous communities in Thailand, Hear & Found will guide you towards opening up your senses to the city through sound. This hands-on workshop will teach you the basics of field recording techniques on your mobile phone and the workshop will close with a collective reflection of your recording. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this workshop is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the world of sound recording and experiencing the city in a whole new auditory way!
Post-workshop, you're invited to visit Hear & Found's sound installation, Earthsong: Indigenous Harmony from Thailand at Stamford Arts Centre, which immerses you in the songs and nature sounds of the Karen community.

Hear & Found team co-founded by Ms. Sirasar Boonma and Ms. Pansita Sasirawuth. Their team has established since 2018, a sound collective dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices, primarily in Thailand. Through immersive installations and field recordings, they bridge cultural gaps and foster understanding. Their work centres on ethical collaboration with indigenous communities, preserving unique soundscapes and musical traditions.
Focusing on sustainability and cultural identity, Hear & Found blends artistic innovation with social impact. They document and share often-overlooked sonic narratives, promoting empathy and awareness. In these six years, their projects have created accessible platforms and reached more than 250,000 people worldwide, working with more than 5 ethnic groups and involving 100+ individuals from these ethnic groups, ensuring that indigenous voices and their rich cultural heritage are heard and celebrated by contemporary audiences.
About The Listening Biennial
Since 2021, The Listening Biennial has sought to foster research and discussion on listening, recognising its transformative power as key to enriching personal lives and social initiatives, and which supports ethical and political practices.
