<H3>Five Walks in Five Weeks: A Forest Bathing Immersion Course </H3>
 
Dates: 5 sessions (Saturday)
June: 16, 23, 30
July: 7, 14
 
Time: 8 am - 11 am, 3 hours per session
 
Venues: Up to 4 different parks/gardens in Singapore. You will be informed of the exact locations/meeting points  prior to the course start date.

Over a course of five weeks, you will be introduced to a good foundation for a lifelong practice of forest bathing. By the end of the five sessions, you will be equipped with a repertoire of sensory invitations and other nature connective activities which you will find useful in your future practice.

This course is suitable for everyone aged 15 and above. Newcomers to forest bathing are welcomed to join the course. 
 
 
What is forest bathing?
The fast paced lifestyles that we are accustomed to in Singapore can cause a great deal of stress - physically, mentally and emotionally. Living in such a dynamic environment, most of us never have the luxury to consciously slow down and introspect, and are not aware of the accumulated pressure in our minds and bodies. Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is a mindful and intentional immersion in nature. A gentle wellness practice, it is effective for de-stressing, calming and finding stillness. More than just a stroll in the park, forest bathing takes participants slowly and intentionally through nature. Science and research studies on forest bathing have quantified health benefits including improved mental clarity, increase body immune functions, increase production of anti-cancer proteins, lower stress levels, lower blood sugar levels and lower blood pressure.

You do not have to be present for all five sessions, but you are highly recommended to be present for at least four sessions, as well as be present for the first and last session.

<H3>FAQs</H3>
Am I suitable for forest bathing if I have never hiked nor spent much time outdoors? 
Forest bathing is designed to be accessible to everyone of varied fitness and outdoor experience. Each session is conducted at a slow pace and we typically cover no more than 800 m for the entire session. We typically walk along well-established pavements in the gardens and grass lawns, and is very convenient and safe for everyone. The routes are also mostly level and no significant physical exertion will be required.
What if it rains?
In case of wet weather, we will personally contact you at least 30 minutes before the meeting time to confirm if the session will proceed or be cancelled. Generally, sessions are cancelled only in the event of very heavy downpour or if there is risk of lightning. If sessions are cancelled, replacement sessions will be arranged for participants, without any additional charges. However, there will be no refunds.
Are we really walking in a forest? 
Forest bathing allows a person to connect with nature. Nature exists outside forests too. City gardens, parks and beaches are some examples where meaningful connections with nature can take place and for you to receive your well-deserved mental and emotional recharge.

<H3>About your guide</H3>
You Min is a certified nature and forest therapy guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, USA. A pioneer guide in Singapore, she is passionate about sharing nature and forest therapy for well-being, especially for stressed out and disconnected city dwellers. She also guides with Singapore’s National Parks Board, conducting nature therapy programmes for elderly care centres as well as various nature connection programmes for families. Spearheading nature therapy for wellness in the ASEAN region, You Min leads forest bathings at wellness retreats in Chiang Rai, Thailand. She is the founder of Xiu Nature Connections and is an active contributor of the Shinrin-yoku 森林浴 Forest Bathing - Singapore community.
