Forest Bathing Walk
Overview
Forest Bathing Experience
Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku, is a nature-based wellness practice that originated in Japan in the 1980s as a public health response to rising stress levels and growing disconnection from nature. Today, it is embraced worldwide as a research-supported approach to enhance physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Unlike a hike, nature walk, or fitness activity, Forest Bathing is a gentle, sensory-based experience that invites you to slow down, be fully present, and reawaken your connection with the natural world. It creates space to attune both to the rhythms of nature and to your own inner landscape.
Many participants share benefits such as:
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Improved mood and sleep
- A deeper sense of peace and connection
In a facilitated Forest Therapy session, certified guides offer a clearly defined sequence of invitations—simple, open-ended prompts that awaken the senses, nurture curiosity, and invite meaningful connection. These invitations open the door to deepening awareness of self, others, and the more-than-human world.
