FREE Trial Coding/Making Class | STEAM Education [Ages 6-16]@Tekka Place image

Bring your kids and join us at our 1 hour Free trial classes that will be held every Saturday! Choose between our 10:00am, 11:30am or the 1:00pm time slot. We will introduce your kids to Simple Coding using Blocks! This is a starting point them for them to move towards a futuristic world of Coding. This is a whole new level before being able to determine their understanding and ability to move to the next step in STEAM Education!

What will we do during the Free Trial Lesson?

In order for your kids to achieve better understanding and experience from the lesson, we have come up with 2 different programmes. Our experienced trainers will determine which programme is more suitable for them.

1. Scratch Coding 

This is a platform where your kids can program their own interactive stories, games and animations. In this trial lesson, our trainer will be teaching your kids about the interface, add-ons, character design and also sound editor.

2. micro:bit Making 

This combines both a platform where your kids can program their own device with a physical microcontroller to see the programmed output. In this trial lesson, our trainers will be teaching your kids about the micro:bit physical component and will be taught how to programme and download workable codes through a platform - MakeCode, that was developed by Microsoft.

After the completion of the Trial Lesson, our trainers will assess your kids and provide you with our evaluation of your kid’s current understanding and interest in STEAM Education. We hope through this Trial Lesson, parents will be able to have a better understanding off STEAM Education, and can choose to equip kids with important skills, for example Computational Thinking, Design Thinking and 21st Century Competencies.

What is STEAM Education?

STEAM stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.” In a nutshell, STEAM Education is an effective and integrated approach to learning and education that allows kids to have strong critical thinking skills that allows them the ability to tackle real-world problems in an efficient manner.
