SG60 x Artist Development with Me2: From Heritage to Merchandise
Event Description:
In celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday, Me2 Centre of Inclusive Arts proudly presents the SG60 Campaign—a nationwide initiative that sponsors 60 individuals with disabilities across three signature programmes: Improv with Me2, Create with Me2, and Artist Development with Me2.
This Eventbrite listing is for Artist Development with Me2, a unique and progressive art programme designed to guide aspiring artists with disabilities in transforming their creative ideas into merchandise-ready artwork.
Participants will draw inspiration from Singapore’s rich heritage, exploring iconic shophouses, local food motifs, and vintage signages—all reimagined into meaningful and marketable designs for lifestyle products like tote bags, prints, and accessories.
What Participants Will Learn:
Interpreting architectural beauty in shophouse sketches
Stylising local food elements (like nasi lemak, kaya toast, and hawker fare)
Designing with retro signages and typography
Creating art with purpose – suitable for merchandise like bottle, shirts and tote bags
Building confidence as creative contributors with commercial potential
