About this event
We’re back for week 3 of functional breathwork in Jardim da Estrela! Practical, science-backed breathing techniques you can use every day to feel better, think clearer, and recover faster.
I’m Charlotte and I'm a functional breathwork coach - which basically means I help people breathe more deeply, more easily and more often. It's a pretty great job 😉
The practice for this week
We'll start by exploring the full, expansive breath cycle: deep, gentle inhales and relaxed, open exhales. Many of us unconsciously hold our breath on the inhale or exhale (yes, “email apnea” is real) thanks to stress, posture, and constant vigilance. You’ll learn how to bring your breathing back to its natural rhythm and I can promise you'll feel that in your mind and in your body.
Then we’ll practice the extended exhale, a calming rhythm shown to stimulate the vagus nerve, our body’s main recovery pathway. It’s a simple tool you can use any time you feel tense, overstimulated, or off balance.
🗓 Friday, August 22🕗 8:00–8:45 am📍 Jardim da Estrela (exact spot shared after registration)
What to bring? A mat, blanket, or pillow - just anything that lets you sit or lie down comfortably.
P.S. The ambition is to do this weekly so if you can't make this date, follow to stay updated on events for the following weeks ☺️

Nope. This session is for everyone, especially if you’re new to breathwork.
No, this is meant to be down-regulating and functional breathing. In this session, there will be no hyperventilation, no breathholds, nothing too activating or stimulating. This is going to be accessible to everyone and anyone.
Anything comfortable. It's not an exercise class but any activewear or loose clothes are perfect.
In most cases, yes, especially since this is a light and gentle session. If you’re unsure, let me know.
Completely up to you. I typically start with sitting but whenever you feel like you want to, you're more than welcome to lie down.
