The Gem Museum is Singapore’s first comprehensive gems and minerals museum open to the public. Founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife team Loke Hui Ying and Tay Kunming, it continues the legacy of Kunming’s father, Mr Tay Thye Sun, a pioneer in gemmological education. The museum shares professional gemstone knowledge through education and hands-on discovery. Visitors explore gemstones and minerals from around the world while learning the Mine-to-Market-to-Memories journey. <h3>Curious about how rocks and minerals are formed? Or wondering why gemstones are so valuable? </h3><h3>Join us on our guided tour led by our curator who is a trained gemologist. You'll be shown what makes a gemstone a gemstone, how they are classified, processed and if valuable enough made into jewellery. Admire our wide collection of various minerals and colorful stones. Discover different phenomena found in some specimens. </h3><h3>You'll leave hopefully with a greater appreciation for all things gemstone and minerals. </h3><h3>Book your tour today!</h3><p>* Only $18 per person!</p><p>* FREE ADMISSION for children below 12 years old (must with at least one accompanying adult).</p><p>* Each timeslot is only <strong>limited to 4 people (including children) in groups of 2.</strong></p><h2>So sign up now for a GEM EXPERIENCE!</h2><h2>Your health safety is our priority. </h2><p>* Please wear masks at all times.</p><p>* We would require visitors to check-in @TraceTogether upon arrival for ALL individuals.</p><p>* Please bring your own drinking water as we have stopped providing water to visitors.  (Apologies, we do not have free prepacked water bottles.)</p><p>* Vaccination-differentiated safe management measures (VDS) have been implemented for entry to museums.  </p><p>*Individuals can be allowed entry in group sizes of up to 2 persons if all are vaccinated.</p><p> *Children aged 12 years and below, recovered individuals, and unvaccinated individuals with a negative Pre-Event Test (PET) result, can be included in the group of 2.
