About this event
- 2 hours
Have you ever strummed a guitar and wondered how it creates sound? In this electrifying workshop, we'll use science to unlock the secrets behind this amazing instrument! Get ready to experiment and discover the physics of sound waves and vibrations.
Join us for an afternoon of exploration where you'll team up with your fellow scientists to build your own mini-guitars! We'll use simple materials to create a model that demonstrates how guitars work. You'll learn how plucking a string sets it vibrating, and how those vibrations travel through the guitar's body to create sound waves we can hear.
Get ready to test different string materials and see how they affect the pitch. We'll even explore how the shape of the guitar body influences the sound it produces. By the end of the workshop, you'll be a guitar-making whiz and understand the science that makes music possible!
