Handling Triggers: Guided Journaling Workshop

Online event
Overview

A light workshop on a heavy topic. You will walk away with a tool that you can apply anytime to take hold of your spiralling thoughts.

Life constantly presents situations that trigger us—an unexpected comment, a difficult conversation, a rejection, a conflict, or even a small event that seems to stay with us long after it has passed. My intention with this session is to help participants use journaling as a tool to process emotional triggers, understand what lies beneath them, and return to a place of clarity, self-awareness, and alignment.

A trigger may last a few seconds, but the spiral that follows can consume hours, days, or even weeks. We replay conversations, imagine future scenarios, justify our reactions, or build stories about what happened. During this time, our attention is pulled away from the things that matter most.

Left unchecked, these spirals don't just cost us time and energy—they influence our behaviour. We may avoid difficult conversations, lash out, procrastinate on important work, seek validation, withdraw from opportunities, or make decisions from fear rather than intention. In doing so, we often end up manifesting outcomes we don't actually want, reinforcing the very patterns we are trying to move beyond.

In this guided journaling session, I will lead participants through a structured reflection process to move out of spiraling thoughts and back into alignment.

But unlike a traditional journaling session, I won't simply be giving you prompts.

My background is in Strategic Foresight and Futures Thinking. Since 2020, I've been facilitating journaling experiences that draw from the emerging field of Personal Futures—the practice of applying tools originally designed to help organizations navigate uncertainty to our own lives.

In this session, we will work with carefully designed micro-prompts and create visual maps that help you connect the dots and experience a shift. The process is structured, visual, light and simple, and deeply practical.

Rather than losing hours to mental spirals or reacting from old patterns, you will gain the ability to regulate your responses and create outcomes that are more aligned with your intentions.

Testimonial

"Today's session was extremely helpful, as always. Such important work you're helping facilitate! I feel more joyful and powerful, and I know better how to navigate in this direction :)"

About Me

I am a foresight practitioner and the founder of World We Desire, working at the intersection of futures thinking and higher-consciousness principles.

I help digital nomads accelerate their exploration and self-discovery journey through guided journaling experiences that provide a structured space for reflection, processing, and transformation.

My approach is grounded, framework-driven, and human. Not heavy excavation of old wounds. Not trauma bonding or pity parties. Powerful and results-driven, with a light touch—playful, thoughtful facilitation that lets you keep shifting, session by session, in a hunky-dory way.

About World We Desire
