The Havana Jazz Quintet is a vibrant fusion of Latin rhythms, modern jazz sensibilities, and deep musical chemistry. Drawing inspiration from the pulse of Havana and the global jazz diaspora, this international ensemble brings together five outstanding musicians whose diverse backgrounds converge in a sound that is both rooted and innovative.
At the heart of the quintet is Andrea Marinello on saxophone, whose warm tone and lyrical phrasing lead the melodic conversation with sophistication and soul. Marinello’s improvisations are both bold and thoughtful, bridging Afro-Cuban tradition with contemporary jazz fluidity.
Ernesto Enriquez on guitar brings harmonic richness and rhythmic precision, weaving melodic lines with a distinctly Cuban feel. His playing is both intricate and emotive, offering a textural foundation that elevates the ensemble’s collective voice.
On percussion, Juan Carlos delivers the heartbeat of the group. A master of Afro-Cuban rhythms, his command of congas, bongos, and traditional instruments brings authenticity, fire, and a celebratory spirit to every performance.
Ethan Seow on bass holds the groove with elegance and intent. Known for his warm tone and fluid technique, Seow anchors the ensemble with driving lines and a keen sense of dynamics, effortlessly moving between jazz, Latin, and funk influences.
On drums, Pablo Calzado provides the rhythmic glue that binds the quintet’s diverse sounds. With roots in both Cuban and global jazz traditions, his playing is energetic, expressive, and masterfully responsive — a dynamic force in the ensemble’s creative interplay.
Together, the Havana Jazz Quintet creates a sound that’s energetic yet refined, spontaneous yet deeply grounded. Their performances are a celebration of musical connection, cultural dialogue, and the timeless spirit of jazz — from Havana to the world.
