Health Data Management and Privacy

The Singapore Health Technologies consortium (HealthTEC.SG) is supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to develop the health technology ecosystem. We focus on both software- and hardware-based health technologies that will transform health and wellness. Though facilitating partnerships across academia, industry and healthcare institutions, the Consortium accelerates the adoption and value capture of technologies developed in the Singapore public sector by the industry.To create opportunities for synergies between different stakeholders in the ecosystem, HealthTEC.SG organises health technology symposia, seminars and workshops for public attendance, as well as exclusive networking events for our members. HealthTEC.SG is a National Platform hosted in the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR). In addition, the Consortium is positioned as a platform to attract regional companies to innovate in Singapore.

In this session, the speakers will cover the application of PDPA and management of personal data in the healthcare sector.

In conjunction with the Privacy Awareness Week (21 – 27 Sep 2020), an annual event initiated by the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) to promote awareness of privacy and personal data protection issues, HealthTEC is co-organising this webinar with IMDA to share about the PDPA and management of personal data in the healthcare sector. About the Speakers:Steve Tan, Rajah and Tann Singapore LLPSteve is a Partner and Deputy Head in Rajah &amp; Tann Singapore’s TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) practice group. Steve practices Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Intellectual Property, and Digital Media / Entertainment law. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer for media and telecommunications and was cited as a leading lawyer for Technology law in Best Lawyers 2013 to 2019. Steve also achieved top 10 in the Financial Times (FT) Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Award 2019 and was additionally picked as a top 30 individual practitioner worldwide for Privacy and Data Protection in Euromoney’s Best of the Best Global Expert Guide 2019. Steve is co-founder of Rajah &amp; Tann Technologies Pte Ltd, a technology company that specialises in cybersecurity and data breach services, e-discovery, forensics. He is also an Adjunct Professor of the Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore, teaching Privacy &amp; Data Protection law.Weng Jianshu, AI SingaporeJianshu is currently with AI Singapore (AISG), an integrated, impact-driven, research and innovation programme in artificial intelligence (AI) for Singapore. As a national initiative, AISG brings together the strength of Singaporean research bodies in Singapore’s Autonomous Universities and research institutes, together with the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products, to perform use-inspired research, create innovative AI solutions and develop the talent to power Singapore’s AI efforts. Jianshu has many years of AI/Data Science research and consulting experience. Before joining AISG, he was the Head of Insights and Modelling of a leading global reinsurer where he led his team to deliver a number of significant data science projects for their key clients in the Asia Pacific region.
